2nd runner-up in the mEYE World Photography Competition 2016

Dr. Colin Chan was awarded the 2nd runner-up in the mEYE World Photographic Competition 2016 Healthcare Professional Category – 2400 photographs were submitted, with only 12 selected for awards.

‘Sometimes after a long day of seeing patients or performing operations, I like to take a walk in the local bush near home,’says Dr. Chan. ‘Soaking in the sights and sounds and smells around me helps inspire me and remind me what a privilege it is to be able to restore sight. Photography is such a wonderful fusion of an appreciation of nature combined with patience, timing and an eye for detail. As one of my favourite pastimes, it complements my work very well. I am really thrilled that my photo was considered for this award.’

The mEYE World Photographic Competition is an initiative of Macular Disease Foundation Australia to raise awareness of macular disease, the leading cause of blindness and severe vision loss in Australia. See more at: http://www.meyephotocomp.com.au/Home
