Conquering Coastrek for The Fred Hollows Foundation

Congratulations to our very own Monica Lette, who recently undertook and completed the gruelling 60km Coastrek walk to raise funds for The Fred Hollows Foundation.
‘The incredible support that I received from everyone, including my sponsors, spurred me on to the finish line,’ says Monica, who splits her role at Vision Eye Institute between optometrist and referrer liaison.
‘I’d really like to thank all of my supporters – it was so motivating to receive donations. I really wanted to do my best to finish.’ Monica noted that the last 10 km was a battle as her legs had well and truly checked out. ‘I also wasn’t very impressed with the kookaburra who flew past and stole a bread roll out of my hand at Bradleys Head!’
In the end, Monica’s team raised $3,327 while the Sydney event raised over $1.5 million. Well done to all who participated!
