Over the last few months, some of Vision Eye Institute’s doctors have travelled to China to visit the Changzhou Zeming Eye Hospital, a sister hospital to Vision Eye Institute.
Doctors from both organisations participated in the China–Australia Ophthalmology Experts International Academic Exchange Conference, a platform for academic and industry exchange. It encourages friendly, bilateral collaboration between Australian and Chinese ophthalmologists to facilitate the delivery of high-quality ophthalmic care to patients. Vision Eye Institute also partners with Zeming Ophthalmology on research projects investigating various ophthalmic diseases and their treatment.
Dr Joe Reich and Dr Raj Pathmaraj, who travelled to China on separate occasions, shared insights from their years of clinical experience, the latest research being conducted at Vision Eye Institute’s clinics, the current status of ophthalmology in Australia and their thoughts regarding the future of this field. They also actively participated in Q&A sessions with their Chinese counterparts regarding various eye diseases and potential complications.
Our doctors look forward to participating in more of these academic exchanges in the future.
