Camberwell CPD event hosted by Vision Australia

Wendy Drummond and Anita Egan from Vision Australia presenting to Victorian optometrists as part of Vision Eye Institute's Camberwell CPD event at Vision Australia's head office in Hawthorn.

We had a wonderful turnout at Vision Eye Institute Camberwell’s CPD event last week, with a hundred optometrists attending. This year’s event was kindly hosted by Vision Australia at their head office in Hawthorn, which has been carefully designed to aid visitors with vision impairment.

Optometrists were treated to presentations from:

  • Anita Egan (Senior Orthoptist, Vision Australia) on the topic of when to refer patients for support services
  • Dr Lewis Levitz (Vision Eye Institute) on the topic of oculoplastic conditions
  • Dr Christolyn Raj (Vision Eye Institute) on the topic of retinal dystrophies
  • Dr Alex Ioannidis (Vision Eye Institute) on the topic of the iStent Inject in patients with glaucoma and cataracts.

After the talks, attendees were invited to explore Vision Australia’s shop, where they were able to trial and ask questions about the latest low-vision resources available for patients.
