Forest Road Day Surgery is an accredited, purpose-built facility for ophthalmic surgery. Our day surgery is fitted with state-of-the-art equipment and technology to support the latest surgical techniques, optimise patient outcomes and ensure patient comfort at all times.

All Vision Eye Institute day surgeries are accredited against ISO 9001 and National Safety and Quality Health Services Standards, with an on-site Director of Nursing to lead the clinical support team.

Day surgery services

We are a specialist day surgery facility for ophthalmic surgical procedures that require more specialised care than is offered in an outpatient clinic, including:

  • Cataract and laser cataract surgery
  • Vision correction procedures (e.g. laser eye surgery, refractive lens exchange)
  • Corneal transplantation
  • Minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS)
  • Glaucoma filtration surgery (trabeculectomy)
  • Vitrectomy
  • Pterygium surgery

Fully accredited

We are committed to continuously monitoring and improving customer service. Our practice has developed a quality management system to meet the requirements of the International Organisation Standards ISO 9001 and National Safety and Quality in Health Services Standards (NSQHS), and achieve certification. These standards focus on the effectiveness of a practice’s quality management system in meeting the needs of its customer. Getting here

By car

Over 200 parking spaces are available within the East Quarter building complex. Street parking is available on Forest Road or Durham Street (a 2-hour limit generally applies).

DO NOT DRIVE YOURSELF to your appointment because you will not be allowed to drive home after your surgery. Please arrange for a responsible adult to pick you up instead.

By public transport

Bus routes 452 (Beverly Hills to Rockdale via Kingsway West Shops, Hurstville and Bexley) and 453 (Percival Street to Rockdale) stop at the corner of Forest Road and Hudson Street, 2 minutes’ walk from the clinic.

You can also reach the clinic via the T4 train line. Allawah Station is located at the end of Roberts Lane, approximately 7 minutes’ walk away and Hurstville Station is located at the end of Ormond Parade, approximately 10 minutes’ walk away.

Disability access

Our day surgery has lift access for those with limited mobility.
