Join us at Vision Eye Institute

Vision Eye Institute is ideally placed to support ophthalmologists as well as both clinical and non-clinical professionals who want to grow their careers in a collaborative, patient-focused environment. As healthcare becomes increasingly complex, many professionals are seeking the stability, mentorship and sense of belonging that comes from working within an established, multidisciplinary team.

Our network brings together a wide range of roles — from ophthalmologists, optometrists and orthoptists to practice managers, directors of nursing, medical receptionists, administrators, registered nurses, instrument technicians, ophthalmic technicians and quality managers. Each plays a vital role in delivering exceptional care and supporting our patients throughout their journey.

As a values-led organisation, Vision Eye Institute provides a supportive and rewarding workplace where you’ll benefit from access to ongoing professional development, training and career progression opportunities. We also offer a range of employee benefits, including access to health cover and wellness discounts, and an employee assistance program.

We look forward to connecting with you to discuss how you can build your future with Vision Eye Institute.

Ophthalmologist opportunities

Vision Eye Institute (VEI) offers ophthalmologists the opportunity to build and grow their practice within a supportive, established network that combines clinical excellence with professional collaboration. Doctors benefit from access to state-of-the-art consulting facilities, experienced clinical and administrative teams, and a trusted national brand with a strong referral base. Doctors enjoy access to surgical facilities through Vision Hospital Group, VEI's world-class day surgeries. All eleven hospitals are equipped with the latest technology for a wide range of ophthalmic procedures.

As healthcare becomes increasingly complex, many ophthalmologists are choosing to align with larger, well-resourced organisations that provide practice management support, marketing expertise, and opportunities for peer connection and shared learning. At Vision Eye Institute, you’ll find a collegiate environment where autonomy and collaboration go hand in hand.

You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to research through our not-for profit research organisation – Future Vision Foundation as well as teaching, and clinical education via Shared Vision, our healthcare professional program led by a dedicated clinical relationships team. Both programs reflect our commitment to advancing ophthalmic care across Australia.

Along with consulting opportunities, we welcome expressions of interest from ophthalmologists seeking permanent or sessional opportunities across our national network of clinics and day hospitals.
