About Dr Tiger Zhou

Dr Tiger Zhou is an Australian-trained ophthalmologist with significant expertise in cataract surgery, pterygium surgery and intraocular injections. He also has a special interest in managing glaucoma, medical retinal diseases, including diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration, and general eye conditions. Dr Zhou is committed to providing empathetic, compassionate, comprehensive and individualised ophthalmic care.

Dr Zhou completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia, where he was awarded first class research honours. Subsequently, he completed his medical degree at Flinders University. Dr Zhou undertook specialist ophthalmology training with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO).

He has also pursued an interest in ophthalmology research and was awarded the Lions Medical Research Foundation Scholarship in Medicine for his PhD research into the molecular genetics of glaucoma. His research has helped identify new genetic variants associated with primary open-angle glaucoma, providing valuable insights into the underlying mechanisms of the disease. Further to this, Dr Zhou has published numerous research papers in prestigious journals and has also been appointed a reviewer for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists’ journal, Clinical & Experimental Ophthalmology.
