The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) recently recognised our very own Associate Professor Tim Roberts at its annual meeting in Chicago last month. A/Prof Roberts, a highly regarded cataract and glaucoma specialist, received the AAO’s Global Achievement Award for significant contributions to the Academy, its scientific and educational programs and to the field of ophthalmology in general. He received the award from AAO Secretary for Global Alliances, Dr Richard Abbott.
A/Prof Roberts is Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Sydney Medical School, Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Royal North Shore Hospital, and Vision Eye Institute’s Medical Director. He is actively involved in research, teaching and charity work and is also a member of various government, industry and professional advisory boards.
The AAO is the world’s largest association of eye physicians and surgeons, with a global community of 32,000 medical doctors.
