Windsor Gardens Day Surgery turns 1!

Our day surgery facility in Adelaide, Windsor Gardens Day Surgery, officially turned one on 10 January 2020!

A big congratulations to Annette Nelson (General Manager and Director of Nursing), her incredible team and all the surgeons who operate at Windsor Gardens Day Surgery.

Their amazing achievements over the first 12 months include:

  • A total of 1,292 patients admitted
    • Dermatology – 137
    • Ophthalmology – 543
    • Gastro/Colorectal – 587
    • General Surgery – 25
  • A team of 19 employed staff
    • 3 administration staff
    • 15 clinical staff
    • 1 central sterile services department (CSSD) technician
  • 16 Visiting Medical Officers
  • Fully accredited to Version 2 of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS)
    • Windsor Gardens Day Surgery was one of the first day surgeries in Australia to achieve accreditation to the most recent version of the NSQHS
  • Fully accredited to ISO 9001 standards
    • ISO 9001 accreditation is an internationally recognised standard but is not mandatory in Australia. Meeting this additional quality management systems benchmark demonstrates our commitment to patient care.

Less than 12 km from the Adelaide CBD, Windsor Gardens Day Surgery offers local access to a world-class surgical facility. The day surgery is part of the 480 Specialist Centre on North East Road and is co-located with several other specialist health services, including Ophthalmology, Gastroenterology, Colorectal, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Dermatology.
