Our latest facility, Windsor Gardens Day Surgery in Adelaide, held its official opening event on 13 June 2019.
Speaker of the South Australian House of Assembly, Hon. Vincent Tarzia MP, conducted the official opening of WGDS and unveiling of the commemorative plaque.
Other speakers on the night included:
Approximately 60 people attended the event, including a number of medical practitioners, representatives of SA Health and WGDS staff. Also in attendance were the builder, architect and project manager tasked with constructing the state-of-the-art, three-theatre facility.
During the night, James Thiedeman presented WGDS General Manager/Director of Nursing Annette Nelson with the bush art ‘Twirling healing leaves’. The artwork represents the process of making traditional bush remedies and is intended to create a welcoming environment for all users of the facility, including patients, doctors and other staff. The striking artwork will also promote cultural awareness and cultural competency towards Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island communities.
