Dr Jeremy Diamond is an internationally regarded ophthalmologist recognised as one of the most experienced eye surgeons in the UK – over his career, he has performed more than 15,000 cataract and glaucoma surgeries. Dr Diamond offers care for a range of eye conditions and surgical procedures, including general eye health, all forms of glaucoma care, routine and complex cataract surgery with premium intraocular lenses, macular disease and neuro-ophthalmology.

Dr Diamond completed his fellowship training in glaucoma and anterior segment surgery at the Royal Perth Hospital before continuing to the world-renowned Bristol Eye Hospital. Here, he founded and then ran the glaucoma department for 20 years.

Committed to ongoing excellence within the field of ophthalmology, Dr Diamond also co-founded Newmedica – the largest private provider of eyecare to the NHS – and established the biggest group practice of eye surgeons in the UK. As such, he is well-placed to provide premier, high-quality care to his patients.

Personal life

After a career in the UK, Dr Diamond relocated to Victoria with his Australian wife – and fellow ophthalmologist – and their five children. He enjoys spending quality time with his family and staying active by windsurfing, snowboarding and playing tennis.

Research & publications

Dr Diamond is an accomplished researcher and esteemed within the international ophthalmology scientific community. He has authored over 50 research papers and textbook chapters, achieved a PhD and received eleven research grants. Additionally, Dr Diamond prioritises sharing these latest findings by presenting them at global conferences, and through training doctors and ophthalmologists. Previously, Dr Diamond also ran the Master of Science (ophthalmology) course at the University of Bristol.
