Our SHARED VISION network for healthcare professionals delivered another standout year of education, hosting 32 CPD events, engaging 2,225 referrers, and providing 40 hours of learning.
The sessions spanned clinical updates, case discussions, new treatment modalities and emerging technologies, each designed to share knowledge and enhance patient co-management.
Importantly, the overall Net Promoter Score was a world-class 84, reflecting strong attendee satisfaction and advocacy for our CPD events. Total SHARED VISION membership grew to 4,366 across Australia.
Thank you to those responsible for making 2025 another standout year for our educational program – attendees, event sponsors and Vision Eye Institute/Vision Hospital Group staff and doctors, including our one-of-a-kind Clinical Relationships Team.

Here are the events that rounded out the last few months of 2025.
We brought together an outstanding panel of speakers for this year’s National Webinar. Special guest Dr James Muecke AM, Sight For All co-founder and 2020 Australian of the Year, joined Dr Rushmia Karim, Dr Nima Pakrou and moderator Dr John McKenzie to focus on diabetes and sight. Dr Muecke presented Blinded, a powerful presentation on the dangers of neglecting diabetes, the rise of type 2 diabetes, and strategies to reduce sugar’s toxic impact. Dr Karim explored the challenges of managing cataracts in patients with systemic and ocular comorbidities, while Dr Pakrou discussed emerging treatment options for diabetic eye health.
We ended the year with yet another busy quarter in Victoria! The Clinical Relationships Team hosted another three onsite clinic events and coordinated several offsite events at optometry practices.
These events attracted roughly 65 optometrists and provided 8hrs of quality assured CPD hours by: A/Prof Abi Tenen, Dr Guy Olorenshow, Dr Joe Reich, Dr Devinder Chauhan, Dr Alex Tan, Dr Jeremy Diamond, Dr Sky Chew, Dr Eric Mayer, Dr Daniel McKay, Dr Andrew Shaw, Dr Alex Ioannidis, Dr Lewis Levitz and Dr Uday Bhatt.
Topics included laser refractive surgery, laser wet lab, OCT interpretation, an update on glaucoma interventions, protocol S for diabetic retinopathy treatment, geographic atrophy treatment update, age-related macular degeneration, post-operative red flags and more.

Our South Australian doctors (Dr Paul Athanasiov, Dr Simone Beheregaray, Dr Soo Ng and Dr Tiger Zhou) finished off the year with two key events – the Vision Eye Institute SA Long Table Dinner and Optometry Australia’s Adelaide Interactive. Both events were a resounding success, attracting 59 and 60 optometrists respectively, and featured highly engaging presentations, lively trivia (Long Table Dinner) and interactive discussion.
Topics spanned penetrating eye injury, chemical burns, post-cataract surgery challenges, glaucoma crises, anti-VEGF in retinal disease, anterior segment lesions and giant cell arteritis.
