What does cataract surgery involve?

Headshot of Vision Eye Institute ophthalmologist, Dr David Ng.

As a general ophthalmologist, Dr Ng treats patients with a broad range of eye conditions. He has considerable experience in performing laser cataract surgery and regularly lectures on this area to optometrists and other doctors. Dr Ng also has a particular interest in glaucoma and medical diseases of the retina, such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration and retinal vessel disease. Some other conditions Dr Ng regularly manages and treats include eyelid lesions and pterygium (Surfer’s Eye). For pterygium surgery, Dr Ng uses tissue glue to reduce the need for sutures.
